1/2 day seminar
Ethics for Financial Managers
Professional Conduct for Management Accountants
"The ethics seminar that all others will be measured against"
When ethics continuing professional education became required in many states, Executive Education set the goal of developing the ethics seminar that all others would be measured against. This 4 hour seminar approaches ethics from the viewpoint of corporate financial managers, keeping the topics of ethics interesting and fast moving through the liberal use of case studies and group discussion.
Topics include:
- Applicability of Professional Standards to Management Accountants
- AICPA Code of Professional Conduct
- IMA Standards of Ethical Conduct
- Federal Laws
- State/Provincial Ethical Rules
- Ethical codes of other groups
- Ethical principles:
- Confidentiality
- Integrity
- Competence
- Due Care
- The conflict between ethical principles and the rules governing financial managers
- Resolution of ethical conflicts
- Just because no laws were broken does not mean it is right
- Why You Never Saw Charles Bronson Cast as a Hero Accountant
The course material includes group discussion of four real-life case studies involving management accountants.
