What is New for 2008?
CONTINUAL PROCESS OF INTRODUCING NEW MATERIAL
Over the last two years we have formalized our process for identifying, developing and continuously improving our seminar material. At each seminar we ask participants to evaluate potential seminar topics for upcoming years and to tell us about topics any additional topics that they would like to see presented.
Even if there is nothing new to say about a topic, we believe that we can still improve our presentation as we increase our knowledge of how to teach each seminar. As a result we have implemented a process where every new seminar is revised at least once during the first year that it is offered and at least every other year after that. This process of continual renewal will cause many seminars to be very fresh even to a participant who took that seminar only a year ago.
NEW MATERIAL FOR 2008
Advanced Management Accounting will receive a major update that includes the addition of a new section on developments in Resource Consumption Accounting and an increase in coverage of service business costing issues.
Cases in Corporate Ethics – III: Resolving Ethical Conflict is an all-new two-hour ethics program which may be offered in conjunction with the six-hour version of our profit improvement program or as multiple short sessions on the same day.
Change Management: Making Improvement Happen is an all-new seminar by our popular Colorado-based speaker Dan Chenoweth.
Chief Financial Officer: Executive Level Skills for Financial Managers is new seminar targeted at financial managers of medium-sized companies who are, or who aspire to be CFO.
Corporate Financial Reporting: Presenting Understandable Financial Information will become a full-day seminar with all new participant exercises and a new “don’t let this happen to you” section.
Pricing for Profitability will receive major update, being reorganized to take a “best practices” approach. These changes will allow this seminar to be more seamlessly offered as a two-day series with Advanced Management Accounting.
Profit Improvement: Ten Tips for a Better Bottom Line will become a full day seminar, receiving three nex cases and four all new modules. For 2008, Rick Van Es joins John Daly as co-author of this seminar.
Skillful Negotiations: Getting the Most from Your Banker, Customers and Vendors evolved from a popular module in one of our other seminars. Participants will have an opportunity to negotiate a case situation with other members of the seminar.
Many other seminars will receive less major updates. For example, our highly popular Ethics for Financial Managers and Cases in Corporate Ethics seminars will each pick up two new cases. We think that all of our hard work will keep your seminars fresh and interesting for your participants next year.
